WHO IS THE GOD OF MONEY?
The God Of Money or Cai Shen Ye as it's pronounced, is the Chinese God of Wealth and Prosperity
Legend says that every Chinese New Year, Cai Shen Ye descends from heaven to inspect his followers.
Many families worship the God of Money in the early morning, by offering incense and invite the god into their homes in hopes that they will be blessed with great fortune in the new year.
Monday 16 - Sunday 29 January - Lucky Rabbit Scratch Card!
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT
Of all the 12 zodiac animals that appear in Chinese astrology, the Rabbit is renowned to be one of the luckiest and peaceful ones, which in turn blesses us with a lucky and peaceful year.
It is believed that people whom are born in the year or the Rabbit are intelligent, kind hearted, creative and and have a strong sense of responsibility.

HOW IT WORKS
The year of the rabbit is a year of luck, and what better way is there of testing it than entering our brand new Electronic Roulette Tournaments?
From 7pm you will be able to register from the gaming floor to play at 8pm.
Each player will receive a 100,000 amount of tournament chips loaded into the machine to play and try to beat the highest score.

WHAT TO EAT DURING CHINESE NEW YEAR?
In Chinese tradition it is common to have celebrate Chinese new year with large banquets of food with their families everyday for 15 days.
The reason being that Chinese New Year starts with the New moon on the first day of the first lunar month and ends on the Full moon which is 15 days later.
What Chinese People eat during those 15 days typically depends on what province they're from in China but the most popular choice of food would be the classic Chinese dumplings.
Dumplings are shaped to resemble old traditional Chinese Gold bars, so eating them is believed to bring about great wealth and fortune.
Thursday 26 January - Lion Dance
WHAT IS A LION DANCE?
A Lion Dance is a complex mix of acrobatics and martial arts performed under a big lion costume.
In Chinese culture, the lion symbolizes power, wisdom, and superiority.
The lion dance is one of the most important traditions at Chinese New Year and are performed during festive occasions as a means to chase away evil spirits and welcome in fortune and prosperous times.
Sunday 29 January – Final Prize Draw
WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE A ENVELOPE?
In case you haven't already guessed, this year our prize draw tickets look like Red Envelopes.
In Chinese culture it is a tradition for people to gift Red Envelopes with money enclosed inside for loved ones on important occasions such as Chinese new year, Weddings, Birthdays Etc...
It serves as a blessing to ward off and suppress evil spirits and to welcome good fortune.
Lucky Rabbit Scratch card terms and conditions
1. This promotion is only open to The Met Card holders.
2. The promotion will run from Monday 16 – Sunday 29 January 2023.
3. Customers can collect a scratch card from Reception anytime every day.
4. One scratch card per customer per day. scratch cards cannot be issued retrospectively.
5. Prizes available are: lucky rabbit £1,000, 1, 2 or 5 Prize draw entries, £5 promotional ticket, cuddly toy, 500 and 1000 Met Points.
6. Should you find the ‘Lucky Rabbit/£1,000’ underneath the panel, take this to Cash Desk to receive £1,000 non negotiable gaming chips to be used on tables.
7. Non-negotiable chips are valid until lost and cannot be exchanged for wheel or cash chips.
8. Should you find ‘prize draw entry’ underneath the panel, exchange this at Reception for Prize Draw tickets.
9. Should you find ‘Promo ticket’ underneath the panel, exchange this at main Cash Desk for Promotional ticket to be used on Slots or Electronics. All Promotional funds will need to be staked before cashing out.
10. Should you find ‘cuddly rabbit’ underneath the panel, exchange this at Reception for cuddly toy.
11. Should you find ‘Points’ underneath the panel, the points won will be added to your account in 24 hours. Hand the ticket back to Receptionist.
12. Prizes won cannot be exchanged and no cash alternative is available.
13. Empire Casino is not responsible for failures of any kind or for entries that are incomplete, misdirected, late, lost, damaged or stolen.
14. Any complaints or disputes should be brought to the immediate attention of Venue Management for resolution.

Prize draw ticket terms and conditions
1. This promotion is only open to The Met Card holders.
2. The promotion will run from Monday 16 – Sunday 29 January 2023.
3. Customers can collect a draw ticket only when they exchange their scratch card with ‘Prize draw entry’ prize in the panel. Number of Prize draw tickets depends upon the number of scratch cards redeemed during the promotion period.
4. Final prize draw will take place on Sunday 29 January at 8pm, when five winners will be drawn to spin the prize wheel once. Customer can only win once. Entry tickets must be in the tombola 10 minutes before the draw.
5. Customers will win a prize depending on the wheel segment it lands on.
6. There will be 52 segments on the prize wheel: 13x £1,000 cash, 13x £750 cash, 13x £500 cash, 13x £250 cash.
7. Members must be present at the time of the draw to win. Winners will be chosen randomly from the tombola and will have 2 minutes to claim the prize by producing their membership card. If the prize is not claimed within 2 minutes a re-draw will take place.
8. The Met Card holder’s name and membership number must be displayed on the entry ticket and verified for the member to be confirmed as a winner.
9. The Promoter is not responsible for any entries that are incomplete, misdirected, late, lost, damaged or stolen and these will not be replaced. Photocopies or reprints will not be accepted.
